About The Artist...

The works shown on this site are the creations of David Hallett, a metis painter currently residing in Winnipeg Manitoba. David's art reformulates the oral legends of his swampy cree ancestors. Keeping in the tradition, he weaves his legend loosely and interjects personal biographical references and contemporary ideas freely. The paintings of David Hallett are both creation and preservation.
